In Modern usage, a hospice is a home or hospital
established to relieve the physical and emotional suffering
of the dying. In September, 2006, this 28,000 square foot
facility opened to fulfill that role. The aesthetically pleasing
interior provides a relaxing atmosphere for patients and
families. Two 8-bed patient wings feature comfortable family
rooms, each which includes a fireplace, wooded exterior
view and access to walking paths and a garden area.
The structure is organized around a central space, and
other areas of the facility include additional family support
areas, a children’s area, a library, a kitchen for family use,
a chapel, meeting rooms and a patient spa.
